The revelation of the Egyptian offer here forced the Israeli government to stop hiding it

Why did the Israeli government try to hide from the public the Egyptian offer to release 10 hostages, some alive, and only after we revealed it here last week did the government address it? The answer to this, in our assessment, is the same answer from January 2023, when the government began the anti-judicial coup to weaken the judiciary and annex the West Bank. The annexation of the West Bank to Israel once again stands as the main motive for the government's actions, including the concealment of the Egyptian proposal from the Israeli public. The difference now is that since October 7, the government has also wanted the Gaza Strip, and to that end it established a transfer administration two weeks ago; the stain of the transfer will now be borne by all Israelis, not just the ministers of the fanatical government. Below is a detailed breakdown of the Egyptian offer submitted to Israel with Hamas's consent, as we revealed here exclusively last week (see Today's diary):

Release of 10 hostages, some alive

Ceasefire until after Passover

Release of 50 Palestinian life prisoners

Release of 1,100 Gaza residents who have been detained since October 7

Israeli commitment to move to phase two in negotiations to end the war, the main points of which are:

Ending the war

Complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza

Releasing all hostages (the key is unknown at this stage, which is why we have not written anything about it)

The Israeli Palestinian Post

Hamas's agreement to disarm and relinquish power, immediately after the war, has not changed since January 2024, when the IDF defeated the organization; at that time, we published here for the first time, exclusively, that Hamas would be willing to disarm and relinquish power and transfer it to the Palestinian Authority. The Authority then pledged to disarm Hamas and work to release all the hostages.

The Israeli government did not agree to the introduction of the Palestinian Authority into Gaza, as this could have legitimized the Authority, and from this could have resulted, from the government's perspective, legitimacy for the Palestinian Authority's territory in the West Bank and Gaza; The Israeli government, on the other hand, intended retroactively (see our previous reports) as early as January 2023, to bring about the annexation of the West Bank to Israel. After the war, the government also added Jewish settlement in Gaza to its intentions, And now it is also adding a transfer administration for residents in Gaza, which it calls a voluntary migration administration; by doing so, the government essentially intends to cancel diplomatic agreements that Israel signed with American guarantees and with sweeping global consensus.

We do not know what is currently happening in Gaza, and whether and how the IDF is promoting the transfer that the government has forced upon it, in an order that in our view is contrary to international law, and in particular it coincides with the accepted definition of a crime against humanity. Reports on social media, and in the Palestinian News Agency, reinforce this concern.

The Palestinian public's demonstrations against Hamas are also not taking place in a normal public moral environment and are not disconnected from the war; the demonstrations began after Israel announced the establishment of the Transfer Authority, and therefore our assessment is that they express the deep and natural fear of a population of losing its home and homeland.
