The Israeli government lies to Israel

עיתון בין אויבים

A newspaper among enemies

Hamas is ready for a limited Israeli presence in Philadelphy, in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Rafah crossing; The Israeli government lies and says: Hamas is fortifying its positions

This headline, which is a refinement of our exposure from last week, can only be approved in Israel by the Chief of Staff and the head of the Shin Bet. But public courage is not battlefield courage. The greatest heroes in wars lack public courage. And such courage is now required to tell the public that their government is lying to them. Or tell us, of course, that our exposure is fundamentally wrong, and therefore it is a false exposure. Rather, let them say that we are wrong; The right of the suffering Israeli public, which has been in a war for its national life for a year, to know the truth; Is Hamas preventing an agreement, or is the Israeli government preventing it? To know not only for the sake of curiosity, but to know so that the public can make their steps wiser and win the war; It is in the power of the heads of the security establishment to dispel the fog, behind the government's intentions and its actions, because the information about the intentions of the Islamic Nazi enemy may be in the hands of the security establishment. The Chief of Staff and the head of the Shin Bet know in our estimation whether Hamas is ready to compromise or not. They must go public and tell them the truth about the behavior of the Israeli government in the negotiations with Hamas (see the expansion on this today in the editorial). The Israeli political system cannot do this for them because the public's trust in it has been lost a long time ago. No one believes politicians and parties in Israel anymore; In our estimation, the public arena after the war will show the lesson that derives from this wisdom, in a profound change of the Israeli public structure. The same goes for the press, which has been contaminated with political assistants and interests that go beyond the scope of the reporting press, and no one believes it anymore. At the end of the war, our newspaper will even ask the state commission of inquiry to be established to investigate the failures of the Israeli press to warn of the approaching genocide.

The US and the Palestinian Authority, as well as the moderate Arab countries, are waiting for Israel's response to Hamas' attempts to compromise. A Palestinian source in Ramallah who has proven his credibility to us in the past told us last week that everyone is now waiting for answers from the Israeli government; but instead of answers to the parties involved in the negotiations, and answers to the citizens of Israel, the Israeli government releases statements according to which Hamas is fortifying its positions. According to the information we have, this is a lie, which aims to pave the way for the real goal of the Israeli government since January 2023, which is the annexation of the West Bank, And now also the establishment of a military government in Gaza and the return of Jewish settlement in the Strip.

The Palestinian Authority is working to prove that it deserves to seize power in Gaza. In the past, we reported here on the PA's agreement to bring about the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, and to work for the return of the abductees. The PA even launched a military maneuver against Iranian activists in the West Bank in recent weeks. Iran's outrage over this was expressed this week in the Iranian press. In a long article, the newspaper accuses Abu Mazen of succumbing to the dictates of "Israeli colonialism" and chasing Palestinian resistance fighters in the West Bank.

The Palestinian Authority has been trying for many months to reach an agreed coordination with Hamas in Gaza. Both parties even went to Beijing for this purpose. The two sides are deeply conflicted, but are trying to find a way, in the face of the war that threatens both, to formulate a coordination of positions that will keep both alive until the end of the war. This is why we believe the Palestinian source who is close to both sides, that Hamas expressed to the PA an agreement to a compromise in Philadelphy according to the wording we brought from the source last week: agreement to an Israeli presence "at several points" in the Philadelphy axis, In exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal from the Rafah crossing. According to the report, the US has agreed to train a military force of the Palestinian Authority in preparation for taking control of the Rafah crossing, and the government in Gaza, and the parties are again waiting for Israel's consent. Sinwar is desperate, and he no longer believes that Iran and Hezbollah will be able to help him, on the contrary, if they are defeated his situation will be much worse. That's why Sinwar now wants an agreement in our estimation. And we will repeat what we wrote before: In the Palestinian Authority are the greatest haters of Israel, enemies in every sense of the word. Moreover, it is very possible that the Islamo-Nazi views of Hamas have even penetrated well in the West Bank. But the PA does not act militarily against Israel, and Israel is therefore committed to the political agreements it signed and is committed to the international community that has deepened recognition of the PA in recent months in the Palestinian Authority. Above all, Israel is obliged to recognize its capabilities and limitations. And Israel cannot in the era of the Third Temple govern all parts of the Land of Israel.
