Settlers cut down 25 olive trees in the Nablus area

Does the intense activity of the IDF in the Nablus area encourage uninhibited settlers to go out and act against Palestinians on their own, in complete opposition to the values of the army. The Palestinians reported at the weekend about settlers cutting down 25 olive trees in Kfar Kiryot near Nablus. It is strange how settlers, most of whom know that in the laws of war the Torah explicitly forbids cutting down the enemy's fruit trees, violate an explicit prohibition from the Torah, and return and cut down olive trees. The Palestinians say that the campaign of cutting down trees belonging to the Palestinians, especially olive trees, has been going on for years. Israel has so far failed to put an end to this phenomenon which is contrary to its stated values and laws.
