There is widespread anger in Ramallah over Minister Yair Lapid, who recently stressed to the Palestinian leadership that the frozen negotiations between Ramallah and Israel will remain at the same temperature even when he enters the Prime Minister's Office.

The Palestinians recognize that even if Israel were to negotiate with them, and even if Minister Lapid did not treat them arrogantly and defiantly, even then their power to make decisions when there is a rift between Gaza and Ramallah is zero, so President Abbas may address this reality between Gaza and Ramallah tonight. And perhaps even update on the negotiations with Hamas on attempts at internal Palestinian reconciliation.

Hamas is also vigilant ahead of Abbas' speech. About two weeks ago, the terrorist organization published a picture in which Hamas security guards in Gaza held a rally of the Fatah movement (see our exclusive report), and on Tuesday the organization posted a picture of Saudi-oriented Palestinians burning pictures of Nasrallah, to make it clear to Ramallah that Hamas is open to proposals and flexible in his positions; On the other hand, Hamas continues to fire test missiles toward the sea (including yesterday), in a message that also addresses Ramallah and emphasizes its independence, and of course, it also addresses Israel. Burning Nasrallah images can also be interpreted as an expression of gratitude to Egypt for its contribution to negotiations with Israel and the rehabilitation of the Gaza Strip.
